I'm Maxine Marshall, editor and writing coach. Here's a bit more about my background:
Book Editor
As a managing editor at Callisto Media (Rockridge Press), I edited more than 50 books for kids and teens. My team launched the popular Jr. Scientist series.
In addition to illustrated and photographic kids' titles,
I edited puzzle and activity books.
Publicist
At HarperOne (HarperCollins publishers), I managed publicity campaigns for new releases and backlist titles. I headed the publicity efforts for Charlie Mackesy's "The Boy, the Mole, the Fox, and the Horse" as well as some fun adult titles like "Millenneagram" and "HausMagick."
Literary Agent
Writer
At Straus Literary agency, I managed contracts, tracked royalties, and scouted new talent. My work as an editor is informed by the strong understanding of the business of publishing that I developed while working for the agency.
I have an MA from the University of Utah, and an MFA from New Hampshire Institute of Art (now New England College). I've published literature reviews, art reviews and literature study guides.
